Last night, I presented my “Advanced Facebook Advertising Clinic” at Third Tuesday Vancouver.

First Things First

We now have a Facebook Group for Third Tuesday Vancouver. Please be sure to join it!

Shane’s Blog Recap

Shane Gibson has done an excellent recap of the main points, which include:

  1. News feed ads click-through rates are astronomically more than sidebar ads
  2. Email support actually works (for paying advertisers in Facebook) if you’re stuck email Facebook support
  3. Ads can direct people to specific tabs of your Facebook page (you have to pay for this)
  4. There’s an ad category called “owners of old computers” – great for targeting tech laggards

You can read more on Shane’s post.

Video Recap

I did a video a while ago which shares many of the same tips I presented last night, and you can watch it here:

Software: Social Lead Freak

One of the resources I shared, Social Lead Freak, lets you create ad-targetable audiences from groups, small pages, events, and engaged posts — something you can’t do with Facebook’s own tools. Here’s a video tutorial of the software:

You can download the software here (it might give you a security warning when you click the link — ignore it; it’s a safe link).
