I want/need to go to a one- to two-week retreat (yoga, meditation, classes, crafts, learning/courses, walk/hike, rest, healthy food, etc) Can anyone recommend any? I don’t mind travelling to get to the right place.

Try the 10-day meditation session at the Dhamma Surabhi centre near Merritt, B.C. All who’ve tried it tell me it’s changed their outlook on life.
Check out Hollycock Retreat in British Columbia.
Hollyhock on Cortes Island. Not cheap, and quite, uh, hippy dippy, but that will probably be present at any retreat centre. A beautiful setting, though.

I wasn’t there for any official program, but had a wonderful personal retreat… was awesome.
Todd,
I sent you a message first thing this morning about your request and it has not been posted. Is there a particular reason why? If so, can you please let me know what was wrong with it. Thank you.
Mr. Maffin,
I don’t know of a particular retreat for you, but I know of someone who can direct you to exactly what you are looking for. Her name is Susan and she has her own catapult fitness blog. You can contact her at susannyny@gmail.com her blog address is catapultfitness.blogspot.com I have been a huge fan of you’re work and I think it’s a great idea that you are searching to better yourself by attending a soul searching retreat. I wish you the best of luck in your spiritual endeavor.

I think they have weekends for lay-people, too.
Hi Tod,
got to agree with hollyhock suggestions, and it’s closer to your home. A visit there over a decade ago was the inspiration for our little retreat in Ontario: http://www.northernedgealgonquin.com
Though we’re not hippy dippy, lots of experiences you might find interesting.
Check out the Hoffman process, it’s pretty incredible.

I know of a few folks that instruct at The Haven http://haven.ca/ on Gabriola island.

I can personally recommend hollyhock, I’ve been there. It’s small, comfortable, healthy and laid back.
If you want to be more rigorous, spiritual and disciplined, THE MOUNT BALDY ZEN CENTER is/was the path chosen by Leonard Cohen.
Thanks everyone!
Uh, and Rodney… it’s because I was still sleeping and hadn’t approved your comment. Cut me a break!
Not sure if either of these meet your exact requirements, but I have seen some media coverage of the Hills Health Ranch, and it looked pretty good.

Add my vote for Hollyhock, Tod, I’ve been, and it is like Disneyland built by hobbits, but it is very beautiful, very quiet, the food is awesome, and you can go on a basic retreat, and then join the morning yoga session informally, plus go kayaking, hiking, and get a relexology session and massage, without having to go to any classes,

Thanks!!
Hello Tod,
As I wrote earliear, I hope you found the right retreat and recieved the best treatment possible for you’re mind, body, and soul. Also, I can’t wait to get a hold of you’re book and recommend it to all of my family and friends. I just read you’re comment to me and I am still laughing : ) I thank you for that. I had a bad car accident on Friday evening and I’ve been dealing with a case of the blues. I’m o.k. “Thank God” but my car is totaled and my insurance company is not compensating me for any of the damages; my dad did not place collision under my policy. The day I asked him to do me the favor and get the car insured for me because I was extremely he forgot the type of coverage I would have gotten.
Todd, I was hoping that perhaps you would be kind enough in showing me how to create my own Website, Blog, URL, etc. It would be an honor to learn from the very best; I truly mean that! Bernard Shaw once remarked that “If you teach a man anything, he will never learn” Learning is an active process. We learn by doing. -Dale Carnegie. I say that I truly mean that because Todd, you and I both know we live in a very cynical world and we don’t know who one really is until we really get to know their true intensions. I quote to you again from Dale Carnegie’s book, How to Win Friends & Influence People; The difference between appreciation and flattery. “One is sincere and the other insincere. One comes from the heart out; the other from the teeth out. One is unselfish; the other selfish. One is universally admired; the other universally condemed.” Todd, I say that to say this, and I repeat; it would be an honor to learn from the best. I thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide to me. I also know that thing’s of such nature do not come for free. I’m not a wealthy man YET, but I am willing to pay a reasonable price for you’re time and effort.
Best,
Rodney
Oh, I almost forgot. I’ll cut you the break this time, but next time I am going to give you a time out. LoL. God Bless You Todd, keep up the fantastic work!!!
